The Authors all serve on the scientific staff of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), in Asheville, North Carolina. Thomas Karl, who has also been active in defining an international Global Climate Observing System, serves as the Center's Senior Scientist. Robert Quayle is Chief of the NCDC Global Climate Laboratory and David Easterling and Richard Knight are staff meteorologists. The NCDC is the nation's repository for all current and past meteorological records. |
