Brochure describes a series of NASA sponsored Space Shuttle-Spacelab
missions, named the Atmospheric Laboratory for Applications and Science
(ATLAS). ATLAS will investigate specifically how Earth's atmosphere and
climate are affected by the Sun and by the products of industrial complexes
and agricultural activities. Experiments flown on the Shuttle every year or
two will gather data throughout the Sun's 11-year activity cycle. The ATLAS
program is part of NASA's Mission to Planet Earth, a unified study from the
deep interior to the outermost regions of Earthspace.
