Global ocean model simulation
Sea surface temperatures produced by the most detailed global ocean model to
date. Warm tempertures in the tropical oceans are shown in red, and colder
temperatures in purple. This model can simulate the great detail of the
Gulf Stream, the Kuroshio Current near Japan, and the Antarctic Circumpolar
Current, and provides important information on the structure of the ocean.
