"Dr.
Global Change" is a REFERENCE SERVICE that assists users
in finding data and information concerning changes to the global
environment. We focus on the major elements of the U.S. Climate Change
Science Program, as outlined in "Our
Changing Planet". These elements are:
QUESTIONS
ARE ANSWERED by the GCRIO staff, along with staff from other U.S. government agencies participating
in the U.S. Climate Change Science
Program. The staff consists of information specialists with
access to a wide range of reference materials and experts.
TURN-AROUND
TIME: We attempt to answer questions within a maximum of 10 working days, however
sometimes we get more questions than we have time to answer and
it may take up to a couple of weeks for us to respond. We cannot
guarantee a response to all questions.
We
welcome questions from students, however, WE DO NOT DO HOMEWORK
OR ANSWER TEST QUESTIONS. We are not a substitute for studying
and library research.
Please,
BE SPECIFIC! Avoid questions that are broad in scope, such
as: "What is climate change?", "What is Ozone Depletion?" Questions
such as these are too general. There are many educational web sites
that offer great explanations for these types of question. You will
find them on our LINKS page.
Since
we are an Internet based service, OUR ANSWERS will usually
point you to Internet based resources (mostly Web sites from participating
government agencies, research institutions, and non-governmental
organizations). Specific questions may get a brief factual answer.
WE
DO NOT offer personal opinions or do interviews. Our answers
are based upon currently accepted scientific research.
We
do not give MEDICAL or LEGAL ADVICE.
