The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is beginning a new research program entitled Climate and Global Change, to be coordinated with other federal agency research. (See Global Climate Change Digest, NEWS, Mar. 1989.) NOAA will be funding a small number of proposals from academic institutions in fiscal year 1989, especially those which complement specific projects being implemented within the agency; proposal deadline is May 19, 1989.
