Item #d90apr116

The recently created Space Agency Forum on the International Space Year, representing 25 nations, will complete an encyclopedia on computer discs by 1992 that will enable scientists, students and educators to work with global data of all types on personal computers. Animated and color-coded displays of coastlines, rainfall, clouds, vegetation and other elements of the climate system will be possible; the data base will be frequently updated. For information contact Renee Twombley, U.S. International Space Year Association in Washington (202-863-1734). (See also Sci. News, p. 108, Feb. 17, 1990; Science, p. 1564, Dec. 22, 1989.)
