Item #d90jul13
Geophys. Res. Lett., 17(4), Mar. Suppl. 1990. The
Airborne Arctic Stratospheric Expedition was a cooperative exploration of the
chemistry of the ozone layer in January and February of 1989. This special issue
presents the initial scientific results of the expedition, as well as data from
other atmospheric experiments and analyses carried out during the Arctic polar
winter of 1989, in 63 papers that document the chemical, meteorological and
physical data collected.
"The Airborne Arctic Stratospheric Expedition: Prologue," R. Turco
(Dept. Atmos. Sci., Univ. Calif., Los Angeles), A. Plumb, E. Condon. This first
paper introduces the expedition, provides a brief overview, includes mission
logistics and summarizes key scientific findings. (See Global Climate Change
Digest, NEWS, May 1990.)
