Item #d91aug14
"Climate: Economic Models and Policy on Global Warming," A.
Miller (Ctr. Global Change, Univ. Maryland, College Pk. MD 20742), Environ.,
33(6), 3-5; 43-44, July-Aug. 1991.
Despite the emphasis U.S. policymakers have placed on the substantial costs
of reducing greenhouse gas emissions as predicted by economic models, there has
been surprisingly little discussion of the validity of such models; closer
examination is long overdue. Discusses in detail key assumptions and
characteristics of models used.
Item #d91aug15
"A Message to Executives and Shareholders of E.I. DuPont de Nemours
and Co. and Imperial Chemical Industries, Ltd.," P. McCully, The
Ecologist, 21(3), 114-116, May-June 1991. These two firms must reign
in their plans to produce CFCs and ozone-depleting CFC substitutes, especially
in light of new evidence of ozone depletion announced in April, or be held
accountable by the public.
Item #d91aug16

article on the Heard Island sound experiment, Science, 253(5016),
