1992.
Part I covers the principles, governance and funding for GEF. Part II deals
with the three-year Pilot Phase, which will provide grants for investment
projects, technical assistance and research. The focus will be technology
transfer and ways to help developing countries protect the global environment.
Gives criteria and priorities for selecting projects, contributions pledged,
list of projects.

A Selection of Projects from the First Three Tranches (Working
Paper Ser. No. II), 19 pp., June 1992.
More than 70 projects have been reviewed and are now in the GEF work
program. They amount to $584 million, of a total core fund of $860 million.
Highlighted are projects in Columbia, Bhutan, Poland, Zimbabwe, the Danube, and
China.

Examines the economic aspects of global warming and greenhouse gas
