ENERGY-EMISSIONS MODELING
Item #d92nov80
MARKAL-MACRO: A Linked Model for Energy-Economy Analysis
(BNL-47161), A.S. Manne (Brookhaven Nat. Lab., Upton, N.Y.), C.O. Wene, 46 pp.,
Feb. 1992. NTIS: DE92-009378; $17.
Describes an experiment in energy-economy model linkage intended as an
improvement over existing methods for energy strategy assessment, and for
analyzing the technologies proposed for reducing environmental risks such as
global warming or regional air pollution. MARKAL uses a systems engineering
(physical process) analysis; MACRO is a macroeconomic model with an aggregated
view of long-term economic growth.
Item #d92nov81
Use of the Edmonds-Reilly Model to Model Energy-Sector Impacts of
Greenhouse Gas Emissions Control Strategies (PNL-SA-20471), D.W. Barns
(Battelle Pacific Northwest Labs., Washington D.C.), J.A. Edmonds, J.M. Reilly,
61 pp., Jan. 1992. NTIS: DE92-010150; $19.
Documents results of the model using scenarios provided in connection with
the 1991 Energy Modeling Forum, which compared the results of several modeling
teams using common assumptions to examine the energy sector impacts of
strategies to control greenhouse gas emissions. Discusses the potential pitfalls
in attempting to assess the cost of emission reductions using the model.
Item #d92nov82
Use of the Edmonds-Reilly Model to Model Energy-Related Greenhouse Gas
Emissions (PNL-SA-20478), D.W. Barns (Battelle Pacific Northwest Labs.,
Washington D.C.), J.A. Edmonds, J.M. Reilly, 43 pp., Jan. 1992. NTIS:
DE92-010035; $17.
Documents results of the model using scenarios provided for an OECD project
comparing global models.
