Item #d93jun31
World Resour. Rev.,
5(1), 1993, and 5(2) (forthcoming) contain papers reflecting
progress under the recently formed International Boreal Forest Research
Association (IFBRA). The IFBRA was created in the early 1990s by scientists from
countries bordering the Arctic, to promote and coordinate interdisciplinary
research on the role of the circumboreal forest in the global environment, and
on the influence of resource management and environmental change on that role.
Issue 5(1) contains guidelines for activities of the association (pp.
11-14), followed by 13 papers on a variety of topics such as ecosystem process
models, the carbon budget, treeline fluctuations, and climatic history of the
boreal region.
