Item #d93nov82

The following three country studies, the latest in reviews completed for IEA member countries every three years, include discussion of prospects for attaining each country's goal for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency, energy and the environment, and energy taxes. For copies contact OECD.

Energy Policies: New Zealand 1992, 28 pp., 1993. A five-page governmental response to this review is available from Energy & Resour. Div., Min. of Energy, POB 1473, Wellington, N.Z.

Energy Policies: Australia. 1992 Review, 1993. This and the following report are discussed in Energy, Econ. & Clim. Change, pp. 13-14, Aug. 1993.

Item #d93nov83

World Energy Outlook to 2010, 1993. OECD

Examines the effects of taxes in OECD countries of $12 and $36 per barrel of oil. Concludes that a concerted effort to improve energy efficiency would generate bigger returns than modest carbon taxes, but the best approach may be a mix of policies. Discussed in New Scientist, p. 6, May 8, 1993.

Item #d93nov84

Energy Statistics and Balances of Non-OECD Countries, Aug. 1993, $95/Ј67/FF420. OECD

World energy supply and demand grew by less than one percent between 1990 and 1991; oil consumption had its second consecutive year of growth at less than one percent. Statistics are drawn from the extensive IEA database that is also available on computer diskettes.

Item #d93nov85

Annex IV of the Energy Technology Systems Analysis Program (ETSAP) concerns greenhouse gases and national energy options. Report and papers listed relate to Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.S. Obtain from Tom Kram, ESC/Global, Neth. Energy Res.
