GENERAL INTEREST--SCIENCE: SPECIAL ISSUE -- GLOBAL WARMING DEBATE
Item #d93sep15
Research &
Exploration, 9(2), Spring 1993. This scholarly publication of the
National Geographic Society contains the following seven articles. All are well
referenced and elegantly illustrated in the manner of the Society's monthly,
National Geographic, making this issue a candidate for reference or
classroom use. The articles by Lindzen, Balling and Michaels argue against the
popular notion of climate change. In the last article, T.R. Karl uses the
fundamental differences and similarities of the preceding papers to define what
is known and what remains to be learned about the issue. He recommends research
strategies for reducing uncertainties, as well as the need to use energy as
efficiently as possible. (Single copies, $10 within the U.S. from Nat. Geog.
