A massive study of climate impacts on Asian countries and possible responses has been published in several volumes. (See Reports/Gen. Interest.) Funded by the Asian Development Bank and the governments of Australia, Japan and Norway, the project was coordinated by the Climate Institute of Washington, D.C., and conducted by institutions in each of the eight Asian countries examined. The Asian-Pacific region has the fastest-growing industrial base, and is expected to be the main source of fossil fuel emissions in the near future.
