A new interdisciplinary and international research journal related to climate change is being published by Elsevier Press: Global Environment Change Part B: Environmental Hazards. It will address the human and policy dimensions of hazards from extreme geological, hydrological, atmospheric, and biological events (such as earthquakes, floods, storms, and epidemics) to technological failures and malfunctions (such as industrial explosions, fires, and toxic material releases). It will highlight issues of human exposure, vulnerability, awareness, response, and risk and focus on their effects on people, property, and societies. Two issues will be published in 1999.
