Our Changing Planet - The FY 1995 US
Global Change Research Program
An annual report by the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources
Research (CENR) of the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC).
Our Changing Planet describes the US Global Change Research Program
for FY 1995. Federal Agency activities and funding levels are presented.
FY 1995 USGCRP Program
Summaries
A companion to Our Changing Planet, the program summaries offer
a detailed overview of the Federal agency programs included in the focused
budget of the USGCRP.
Probability of Sea Level
Rise - An EPA Report [link to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency site]
Planning for sea level rise in response to changing climate depends on
the probability that the sea will rise by a given magnitude. This report
from the EPA develops probability-based projections that can be added
to local tide-gauge trends to estimate future sea level at particular
locations.
A Review of the U.S. Global
Change Research Program and NASA's Mission to Planet Earth/Earth Observing
System (1995)
Results of a National Research Council review of the U.S. Global Change
Research Program with specific focus on the NASA Mission to Planet Earth
(MTPE) and Earth Observing System (EOS) programs in light of budgetary
pressures.
U.S. Country Studies Program Interim
Report on Climate Change Country Studies
Documents the significant achievements made by 21 of the 55 countries
that are conducting climate change country studies with support from
the U.S. Country Studies Program. The reports discuss methods and results
for inventories of sources and sinks of greenhouse gases, assessments
of climate change vulnerability and adaptive responses, and evaluations
of mitigation options to reduce net emissions of greenhouse gases.
